This blog post will not be about code but about my other passion; Crochet!
If you follow me (mostly Twitter) I have mentioned that I work for the public library. I am a programming specialist, meaning I create and bring programs to our community that our patrons can benefit from. I always want to create engaging programs that can help people gain a new skill or mindset.
I would like to eventually offer free coding classes but I am not all there yet to be teaching! hahahahaha
I started to crochet back in 2014 and I haven't stopped ever since. This skill has been passed down from generations in my family. Aside from creating, crochet has helped me immensely with my mental health. I wanted to teach my skill to others willing to learn and benefit from this as well.
I started a crochet club and last Sunday was our first meet. I had a whopping 20 people attend who wanted to learn and take on a new skill! I was overwhelmed in a positive way. I was able to teach them the first basic stitch for any crochet pattern. I am very excited to continue this for as long as I can. I am hoping people will enjoy taking on this journey with me.
Here are some pictures of some of my work. I hope you like them!
